Socket Regeneration and Extractions

Extractions are predominantly done to remove hopeless teeth. Doctor Cochrane uses socket regeneration to preserve the bone ridge in anticipation of placing Implants or improving the aesthetics for bridges, crowns or partial dentures. Dr. Cochrane uses the Ograhm technique which is a slower, gentler way to remove teeth and does minimal damage to the boney housing and ridge.

Socket Regeneration is recommended when the bone supporting your teeth has been destroyed by infection and bacteria. Socket regeneration is done by placing freeze dried bone, or other grafting materials into the socket site at the time of extraction. By having this particular procedure done the bone is preserved and dental implants can be done at a later date.
